Because welcoming goes far beyond being friendly

At LOBA, people come first. It could be one of those clichés that means nothing in day-to-day life but not here. As a service company, we'd be empty walls and rooms without people. As an employee, I pay attention to the small and big details.

This concern starts from the application phase, continues through welcoming and integration into the company, and throughout everyone's journey.

Focusing on the welcoming and integration phase, what do we do at LOBA to ensure all new colleagues feel welcomed?

We understand that entering a new company always brings a bit of anxiety. Everything is new: the space, the people, the role, the work method, and the routines. We know it can be uncomfortable, and it's up to us at LOBA to demystify those fears and naturally show who we are, how we work together, and how we combine positivity, innovation, and trust.

We must recognize the importance of the first day at LOBA within the new employee integration process. It's the starting point for a lasting relationship between the company and the new employee. They say first impressions never fade, and entering the office leaves a mark. It leaves an even more significant mark when the first thing we see is the smiles of our Shared Services colleagues, when there's a colleague ready to welcome us, and when we arrive at our workspace to find a LOBA welcome kit waiting for us.

After the initial impact, there's the introduction to the team, the office, and the company. Subsequently, the new LOBA team member is guided by the team leader, who has a plan for their integration into the team and role, showing that their success is as important to them as it is to us. The focus is to provide a good experience that facilitates their integration.

Over the weeks, new colleagues get to know LOBA better and our purpose, history, and stories. Genuine interactions allow them to absorb LOBA's values, aligning new members with our culture. We know that transparency and genuineness from day one have helped create a stronger connection and a shared purpose, which is essential for our success.

Additionally, there's the significant advantage of knowing how to welcome. A well-planned, empathetic, and transparent integration process reduces the adaptation period, making the person more productive and comfortable to showcase their skills.

We also highlight the personal side, where we get to know colleagues, form bonds, and make friendships that make the journey lighter and more meaningful.
